Gremlins 3 is officially in production and is set to hit theaters on November 19, 2027. After more than four decades of waiting, the popular 1980s classic, a blend of horror and comedy that many audiences loved, is being remade.
Steven Spielberg returns as an executive producer under Amblin Entertainment, while Chris Columbus, the original writer of the first film in 1984, will serve as director and producer. He will also join Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein as co-writers of the new script.
The first Gremlins became famous for its quirky story of the mischievous Mogwai and its strict rules: no light, no reading, and no feeding after midnight. Because of this, it gained a large cult following and became a symbol of 80s pop culture.
According to Warner Bros., they aim to bring back nostalgia while introducing it to a new generation. Fans can expect to relive the same magic, fun, and thrill that made the first two films so popular.
While no details about the story have been released yet, it's certain to be a big movie when it comes out in 2027 — a return that's sure to delight fans of Gremlins for over 40 years.
