A dispute between lovers in Barangay Holy Spirit, Quezon City turned into a brawl and gunfire on Thursday. Three men were arrested after a heated argument and a gunfight on San Simon Street.
According to QCPD Station 14 commander LtCol. Jefry Gamboa, the victim allegedly jumped in to break up an argument between his wife's niece and her boyfriend. He thought everything was fine after he dropped the woman off at home.
But after a while, the suspect returned with the two men. A scuffle and fight ensued until the two pulled out guns. The police responded quickly after the barangay reported the incident because the station was only about ₱100 meters away.
One real gun was recovered while the other suspect showed a replica. They will be charged with violation of Republic Act 10591, physical injury, and grave threat.
According to the victim, he never thought he would be harmed just for helping. “It was like I was the one who was being discussed. I thought the gun was going to go off—I almost died,” he said. The suspects are currently detained at the Police Station 14 custodial facility.
