
Cebu City raised a blue alert this Sunday in preparation for the possible impact of Tropical Storm Tino. All members of the Cebu City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office are on alert to respond immediately to any situation.
Mayor Nestor Archival ordered medical units from the city to the barangay level to conduct public announcements and readiness checks. “It's better to prepare before the typhoon arrives,” Archival said.
Emergency vehicles and equipment are also ready for quick response in case of flooding or landslides. Residents are also advised to stock up on drinking water for three days, charge lights, and prepare flashlights and other emergency supplies.
According to PAGASA, Wind Signal No. 1 has been raised over Eastern Samar, Dinagat Islands, Siargao, and Bucas Grande Islands due to Tropical Storm Tino which has almost reached the strength of severe tropical storm.
Tino was last spotted 955 kilometers east of Eastern Visayas, moving westward at 30 kilometers per hour, with maximum sustained winds of 85 kph and gustiness of up to 105 kph.
