Suzuki has unveiled a new e-VanVan electric bike in Japan as part of its sustainable concept range. The bike was first shown at the Japan Mobility Show in Tokyo from October 30 to November 9, where other new motorcycle and car designs were also on display.
It has a retro style from the 1970s, like the old VanVan 125, but now has a flatter seat and a slimmer body. The design is similar to the Honda Dax 125, which is priced at around ₱290,000.
It is not yet certain when the e-VanVan will be released, but it is perfect for the urban EV market. Suzuki targets riders who want a motorcycle that is easy to use, quiet and fuel-efficient. Its length is 1810mm, and the performance is similar to 125cc, so it can be used by those with A1 or CBT licence.
The seat height is low, making it comfortable even for new riders. The overall height is 1050mm, while the width is 825mm, which is perfect for tight roads. There is also a pillion seat for short city rides.
It uses a belt drive system, has non-adjustable suspension, and 12-inch tires suitable for city rides. The digital TFT display is high-tech and controlled using a joystick. Apart from the e-VanVan, Suzuki also showcased the hydrogen Burgman scooter and bioethanol Gixxer SF250, supporting the eco-friendly transport of the future.
