After seven years of fun, Electronic Arts (EA) announced that Sims Mobile will be shutting down for good on January 20, 2026. It's one of the most popular life simulation games on mobile, but it's saying goodbye to players.
As a farewell, EA released a final update on October 20th that gave all players unlimited energy. On January 6, 2026, all Build Mode and Create A Sim content will be free and unlocked for everyone, regardless of level.
The game was also removed from the App Store and Google Play on October 21, making it unavailable for new users to download. EA also notes that no refunds will be given for unused in-game money after January 20, 2026.
Fans suspect that the closure is in preparation for EA's new cross-platform game called Project Rene. Many players are saddened but grateful for the seven years of fun and creativity that Sims Mobile has provided.
