Senator Jinggoy Estrada has filed perjury complaints against former DPWH engineer Brice Hernandez. According to Estrada, Hernandez lied in his statements about alleged anomalies in flood control projects.
Estrada filed four cases at the Quezon City Prosecutor's Office this October 7. He also said that Hernandez can be seen as a "habitual liar".
One of the complaints is that Hernandez alleged that Estrada received a 30% kickback from the project. If the flood control projects cost ₱355 million, it turns out that more than ₱106.5 million allegedly went to Estrada.
The complaint also includes false statements about Beng Ramos allegedly being the senator's staff, using fake IDs in casinos, and Hernandez's denial that he was involved in the project.
The complaint is based on Article 183 of the Revised Penal Code, which states that anyone who makes a false statement under oath is punishable by law.
