2025 MotoGP champion Marc Márquez will miss the Australian GP and Malaysian GP after he had shoulder injury in the match against Indonesia.
Upon his return to Spain, he immediately went to the Ruber Internacional Hospital in Madrid for a check-up. He was diagnosed with a fracture of the coracoid bone and a ligament injury in his right shoulder. Doctors said it was not related to his previous injuries and there was no serious bone displacement.
According to Márquez, “The injury is not serious, but it is necessary to follow the correct recovery timeline. I would like to return before the end of the season, but I will not rush it. Now it is important to full recovery so that I can return 100%.”
Doctors Dr. Samuel Antuña and Dr. Ignacio Roger de Oña advised him to undergo conservative treatment — which includes rest and immobilization. As a result, he will definitely not be able to participate in the next two races, marking an early end to the 2025 season for him.
Márquez clinched his 7th MotoGP title after a hard-fought second place finish at the Motul Grand Prix of Japan. The victory, which comes 6 years after his last world title, is a major comeback for the Spanish rider.
