Senator Jinggoy Estrada has reiterated that he has nothing to do with the alleged anomalies in the flood control projects. This comes after former DPWH engineer Brice Hernandez was allowed to leave the Senate jail to collect evidence against him and Senator Joel Villanueva.
Hernandez, a former assistant district engineer of Bulacan, said that Estrada and Villanueva were involved in the projects. But the two senators vehemently denied this.
According to Estrada, there is no evidence to prove that he received kickbacks in the projects. His spokesperson Bianca Soriano said that their confidence remains intact that there is no document or proof against the senator.
When asked if Estrada would recuse himself from the Blue Ribbon Committee investigation, Soriano replied: there is no reason for him to recuse himself. He added that Estrada remains open to facing and fulfilling his duties with integrity.
The next hearing is set for September 23, 9 a.m., where clearer results of the investigation into ghost projects and substandard flood control programs are expected.
