Typhoon Mirasol made landfall in Isabela on Wednesday, September 17, 2025. According to PAGASA, its center was located around San Agustin, Isabela as of 7 a.m. It has maximum sustained winds of ₱55,000 kph and gustiness of up to ₱90,000 kph, moving west-northwest at a speed of ₱25,000 kph.

Signal No. 1 is raised over parts of Luzon including Batanes, Cagayan (including Babuyan Islands), Isabela, Quirino, Apayao, Abra, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Nueva Vizcaya, Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur. Also included are some towns in Aurora and Benguet. Winds of ₱39,000 to ₱61,000 kph are expected.

According to PAGASA, Mirasol may strengthen further once it exits the Luzon Strait and becomes a tropical storm. If that happens, it could be upgraded to Signal No. 2 in some areas of Northern Luzon.

Strong winds and rains from the habagat will also be brought to Southern Quezon, Camarines Norte, Mindoro and Palawan. Fishermen are advised to avoid sailing for now as wave heights will reach ₱3.0 meters in the eastern part of Cagayan and Isabela.

The typhoon is expected to continue moving north-northwestward and exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility this afternoon or evening, September 17. The possibility of it becoming a severe tropical storm before completely exiting the country is not being ruled out.
