
The two suspects in the kidnapping of a 14-year-old Chinese student in Taguig City have surrendered to the Philippine National Police – Anti-Kidnapping Group (PNP-AKG).
According to the PNP-AKG, alias “Tatang” (62) and alias “Marv” surrendered after their arrest warrants were issued. The two were reportedly scared when they were identified as being involved in the crime.
PMaj. Eleonor Villaruz, chief of the AKG's public information office, said the suspects will face charges of kidnapping for ransom with homicide.
It will be recalled that on February 20, the victim was abducted from his school in Taguig. The perpetrators demanded ₱1.1 billion ransom (equivalent to $20 million).
As of now, the PNP-AKG is still searching for five other suspects involved in the case.
