24 people, including 12 minors, were caught drag racing in San Rafael, Bulacan on Sunday afternoon. The operation was conducted by the Highway Patrol Group (HPG) after receiving a complaint from a resident about illegal motorcycle racing on weekends.
According to Lt. Nadame Malang, HPG spokesperson, the riders were caught in action in Barangay Maasim at around 6:10 p.m.. One of the riders allegedly hit a bystander, while some performed stunts without wearing protection.
Twelve of those arrested are aged 14 to 17, all from the town of San Ildefonso. The other riders are aged 18 to 28 and come from various places in Bulacan.
The caught riders were charged with violation of Republic Act 4136 (Land Transportation and Traffic Code) and RA 11235 (Motorcycle Crime Prevention Act), as well as alarm and scandal.
Minors were immediately subjected to jaw
