An 86-year-old grandfather died after being hit by a motorcycle while crossing the road in Barangay Libertad, Nabas, Aklan on Monday morning.
CCTV shows the old man safely crossing the middle of the road when he is suddenly hit by a fast-moving motorcycle.
The force of the impact knocked the grandfather to the ground while the 28-year-old rider was thrown from his motorcycle. Rescuers responded immediately and took them to the hospital.
The grandfather was declared dead-on-arrival due to serious injuries to various parts of his body. Meanwhile, the rider is safe and is currently receiving treatment at the hospital.
The Nabas PNP is awaiting the family's decision on whether to file a case against the motorist.
