The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) has seized fake iPhones and gadgets worth more than P121 million in a raid conducted in Parañaque City.
According to a report received by CIDG chief PBGen. Romeo Macapaz, two suspects identified as alias “Crissa” and alias “Charles” were caught selling fake iPhones, Apple Watches, and cellphone accessories in a compound in Brgy. Tambo.
It was learned that the CIDG received an intelligence report regarding the suspects' illegal business, prompting the operation. The two failed to show NTC clearance and DTI registration for their merchandise.
Among those confiscated are 225 Apple Watches, 531 MagSafe chargers, 4,580 AirPods, 2,652 charger adapters, 6,664 charger sets, 1,033 iPhone accessories, 1,740 charging cords, and a iPhone 16 unit. There are also Beats Solo headphones, car chargers, hair dryers, earphones and handheld fans.
The two suspects are facing charges of violation of the Consumer Act of the Philippines (RA7394) for selling counterfeit products.
