
The bad weather brought by various typhoons and southwest monsoons caused 12 deaths, according to a report by the NDRRMC on July 24.
In the past few days, Severe Tropical Storm Wipha (formerly Crising), Tropical Storm Dante, Typhoon Emong, and Habagat have brought continuous rains to the country. This has resulted in widespread flooding and landslides.
Three deaths were reported in Calabarzon and three in Northern Mindanao. Two in Western Visayas, and one each in Mimaropa, Davao, Caraga, and NCR. Most of the victims were hit by fallen trees.
Currently, there are 8 missing and 8 injured. Up to 2.7 million people have been affected, while 245,000 have been evacuated. 2,431 houses have been damaged, with ₱3.23 million in damage. Damage to infrastructure reached ₱3.77 million, and agriculture ₱648 million.
More than 40 areas have declared a state of calamity, including several cities in Metro Manila. Dante and Emong are still within the PAR, while the country continues to be affected by Habagat.
