The tour of the famous "haunted" Annabelle doll will continue despite the sudden passing of paranormal expert Dan Rivera. According to a statement from the New England Society for Psychic Research (NESPR), the remaining events of the Devils on the Run tour will still go ahead because they believe this is what Rivera wanted—to continue sharing knowledge, recognizing history, and remembering Ed and Lorraine Warren, the group's founders.
NESPR said, “We will bring her spirit into everything we do.” The Annabelle doll is still scheduled to participate in events in Maine this September, and in Illinois and Kentucky in October.
Rivera passed away on July 13 at the age of 54. According to The Evening Sun, he was in the middle of a tour in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania with members of NESPR. At around 8 p.m., firefighters and paramedics were called to a hotel where he was found having a seizure and requiring CPR.
According to the Adams County Coroner’s Office, nothing suspicious was found in Rivera’s death and he was found alone in his bedroom. The cause of his death is not yet certain and could take several months to be determined.
The story of Annabelle began in 1968 and is one of Ed and Lorraine Warren's most famous cases. Their experiences inspired The Conjuring Universe, including the Annabelle movies, The Nun, and The Conjuring series, which has grossed over $2.2 billion worldwide and is recognized by Guinness World Records as the biggest-grossing horror franchise.
