A former Filipino teacher in Alberta, Canada charged with child exploitation is believed to have fled to the Philippines. According to a report by CTV News, the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams (ALERT) said that the suspect, Jimmy Buena, 47, may have left Canada.
Buena was charged with accessing, possessing, and transmitting child pornography. According to ALERT, she allegedly uploaded child sexual abuse materials to Facebook.
ALERT Staff Sgt. Alison Church said there is no information yet that a student is involved in the case. ALERT clarified that only online activity is being investigated.
Church said that even though there are charges against Buena, a thorough investigation is still ongoing, especially into the technological equipment they seized.
ALERT believes that Buena has left Canada and is currently in the Philippines. They also assured that he will be arrested upon his return to Canada.
