CCSTOYS, a well-known toy brand from China, has announced the new EVA II in their MORTAL MIND series of alloy action figures. After the EVA Final Unit, this is the second model from the official story of Neon Genesis Evangelion ANIMA that is currently in production.
Neon Genesis Evangelion ANIMA is an official novel written by Takuma Kageyama and Ikuto Yamashita. It shows the story three years after the failure of the Human Instrumentality Project. In the story, Shinji Ikari, Asuka Langley Soryu, and Rei Ayanami are 17 years old, and they continue to defend the world using new EVA models.
In the new version, Asuka is the pilot of the EVA II. After being damaged in the battle at NERV HQ, almost 40% of its parts have been replaced. Its head was destroyed by the Lance of Longinus, so from four eyes it has become only two. Its armor is now the same as that of Unit 00, so its performance is now higher.
One of the big changes is the removal of the old cable supply. Now, there's a wireless power antenna on the back, allowing it to receive microwave energy from NERV's S2 Engine to extend the duration of the battle.
