A man was arrested after breaking into a house in Barangay 8, Caloocan City early Wednesday morning. In CCTV footage, he can be seen climbing the countertop while covering his face. He took watches that were placed in a small cabinet above the refrigerator.
According to the police, the watches he stole were worth P11,000. While the residents were fast asleep, they heard a crackling in the kitchen, so they immediately chineck. Going to the kitchen, they caught the suspect taking the watch.
Afterward, the man quickly escaped through the window. The victim sought help from the barangay and police. When they reviewed the CCTV, they immediately identified the suspect as their neighbor. According to officials, he has a long-standing reputation as a thief in the area.
Authorities caught the man near his house and still holding the watches. He admitted what he had done and apologized. He said that he did it out of difficulty and that he regrets his actions.
He is now in the custody of the Sangandaan Police Station and will be charged with robbery.
