Singer James Reid was impressed by TJ Monterde's talent after they collaborated on the song "Pahinga." In an interview with Philstar.com after James' Fête de la Musique main stage performance on June 21, he recounted how the project came to be.
James first worked on the song with Jason Marvin Hernandez and Brian Lotho, but left one verse open for a possible collab. He immediately recommended TJ to his team at Sony Music. TJ happened to be in the same building and immediately heard the demo. James even messaged TJ on Instagram and said, “We made it happen right there and then.”
According to James, TJ is both good at singing and writing. He praised TJ's line in the second verse and said that the song especially suited his voice. James also likes the line in the lyrics, "You are more important, than being right," which for him shows love more than pride.
