The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) has reminded the public about the danger of entering drainage systems, especially during this rainy season. This follows the viral video of two men trapped inside a manhole on EDSA near Trinoma on the afternoon of June 16.
According to the investigation, their neighbors allegedly hired the two men to repair a broken hose under the drainage. While they were doing this, it suddenly rained and the water inside quickly rose.
Due to the suddenly rising water, they immediately looked for a way out. They found a small hole where they called for help. The incident was recorded and quickly spread online.
The QCPD advised the public to contact local authorities first before carrying out any underground work. This is especially dangerous during the rainy season, so safety should be ensured before taking action.
This reminder is intended to prevent accidents and maintain everyone's safety, especially in areas prone to flooding or with drainage systems.
