More than ₱204 million worth of suspected shabu was found inside a abandoned green suitcase next to a vacant lot in Barangay Sabang, Naic, Cavite this early Thursday morning, June 20.
A 26-year-old security guard told police that there was a suspicious suitcase on Friendship Road at around 2:10 AM while he was patrolling the area. When police opened it, they found 30 heat-sealed packs of suspected shabu weighing a total of 30 kilos.
Three surveillance cameras were also found around the suitcase. It is believed that this was part of a "dead drop" modus operandi, where the drugs are left in one place and someone else picks them up to avoid actual capture.
According to PLt. Col. Resty Soriano, the person who left the suitcase was possibly involved in illegal drugs. He said a camera was used to see who would take it.
The investigation and CCTV review of nearby roads are now ongoing to determine who is involved. The seized drugs have been submitted to examination by the crime lab.
