The mother of four-year-old Malia Kates Masongsong is asking for help to find her missing iPhone 11 after a tragic accident at NAIA Terminal 1 on May 4. Cynthia Masongsong, Malia's mother, said the cellphone went missing amid the tragedy that killed her daughter.
In a post on Facebook on June 10, Cynthia said, “Maybe someone will be kind enough to return my cellphone. Along with Malia's disappearance, it was never returned to me. All my memories with my daughter are there.” According to her, until May 5 the phone's location was found at NAIA using a tracker.
Cynthia also shared photos of her family and child on her cellphone, including a screenshot of the tracker. They also tried to contact NAIA Lost and Found, but the gadget was not there.
He explained in the comments section that he was only able to post about it now because he and his wife, Danmark Masongsong, an OFW, are still grieving deeply. “I just thought, ‘that’s all I’ll remember,” he said, along with crying emojis.
In the accident at NAIA Terminal 1, 29-year-old Dearick Keo Faustino, the family's breadwinner, also died. Cynthia and three others were injured. The driver of the SUV, Leo Sinlao Gonzales, 47, said he hit the accelerator too hard instead of the brake. CCTV captured the incident and there was no obstacle in front of the vehicle. Gonzales was charged with reckless imprudence and was granted bail of P100,000.
