The 105-year-old Lola Rosalina “Apong” Corpuz Dela Rosa died after being run over and dragged in Barangay Wawa, Abra de Ilog, Occidental Mindoro. According to the family, Apong had just celebrated her birthday on June 11, 2025.
The incident occurred around 12 midnight. According to his daughter-in-law Marilou Dela Rosa, their sister woke up to a loud noise. They thought it was an animal that had hit them, but they were shocked when they saw Apong lying on the road.
Grandma Rosalina was dead on the spot and could not be taken to the hospital. No one saw what kind of vehicle hit her because the area was dark and it was already late at night when it happened.
The victim's family is calling on anyone who has knowledge of the incident or the perpetrators themselves to come forward and take responsibility for their actions. According to them, although Apong is old, he did not deserve this kind of death.
The family also requested the local government to install street lights in their area to prevent a repeat of this tragedy.
