A 65-year-old farmer, Artemio Manalay, was found dead in a river in Barangay Dominga, Calinan, Davao City on June 16. According to residents, his body was found floating and was in a state of decomposition.
On Saturday morning, Manalay left for their farm in Barangay Lamanan but he never returned home. After more than two days of searching, he was only found.
The only thing left was a bamboo raft. It is believed that he was swept away by the strong currents of the river due to bad weather that day.
Residents are reminded to be careful, especially when leaving in the midst of bad weather conditions to avoid such tragedies.
