Malacañang has given 48 hours to the LWUA (Local Water Utilities Administration) to explain why there is no running water in the bathrooms of some schools in Bulacan. This is after President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. personally inspected the CR conditions at Tibagan Elementary School in San Miguel and Barihan Elementary School in Malolos during his Brigada Eskwela.
According to the President, it is not difficult to fix the bathrooms, but the bigger question is why there is no water. Therefore, an investigation is now underway to determine where the service was lacking.
During the press briefing, Press Officer Claire Castro said that this is not a simple glitch but an issue of the health and dignity of the students. How can the children study properly if there is no water in the school?
The LWUA was ordered to immediately find out who should be held responsible and how the water supply can be restored before classes start next week.
Castro added, it is the government's obligation to ensure that every school has proper facilities to ensure quality education for Filipinos.
