A tricycle that had just returned from BJMP Teresa was shot dead in Sitio Canlibot, Barangay Bagumbayan, Teresa, Rizal this Saturday afternoon, June 7. One person was confirmed dead—an unidentified woman—while the driver and another female passenger were wounded.
The female tricycle driver was reportedly visiting her husband in prison when they were suddenly stopped and shot by a riding-in-tandem. The suspects quickly fled on a motorcycle. According to the guards who first responded, the victims were already covered in blood when they arrived at the scene.
Story by Cristituto Enriquez, a barangay guard, one woman was hit in the jaw, while the other was hit in the chest. Despite the injuries, the driver and another passenger managed to escape. They were immediately rushed to the hospital.
Some residents also noticed two cars and a motorcycle that seemed to be following the tricycle from BJMP. It is possible that they were followed until the shooting. The vehicles were moving quickly, which is why they are suspected to be involved in the incident.
The police investigation into the motive for the crime continues. Currently, the suspects are being identified and charged with murder and frustrated murder. The driver has been released from the hospital, while another injured woman was transferred to another hospital.
