A rider was robbed while resting on the Roxas Boulevard service road in Pasay City in the early hours of May 26. According to police, the two suspects beat the victim on the head until he lost consciousness. The suspects took his motorcycle, cellphone, wallet, and money that was meant for his child's treatment at the hospital.
Two suspects who were previously involved in gambling and drugs have been arrested, according to the Pasay City Police. The two denied the accusation and said they were only implicated because they were caught on CCTV in the area.
Unfortunately, the rider's 10-month-old son died in the hospital. According to investigators, the father was ready to use the money he had with him but was unable to use it due to the crime.
The victim's story went viral on social media, garnering sympathy from netizens. The suspects are currently in custody and facing charges of robbery, carnapping, and perjury.
