Gachiakuta is a dark fantasy shonen anime produced by the renowned Studio Bones, the studio behind My Hero Academia and Fullmetal Alchemist. It is based on the manga by Kei Urana, which first appeared in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2022. The story revolves around Rudo, a boy from the slums of a floating city who is accused of murder and thrown into a dark and dangerous place below filled with monsters.
The official trailer showcases the intense battles, graffiti-inspired visuals, and urban style that make up the unique world of Gachiakuta. The animation is beautiful, especially in the fast-paced action and emotional scenes. The trailer also features a group of Cleaners, warriors who fight monsters called “trash beasts.”
We will also meet Regto, Rudo's future mentor, and Jabber, a powerful Raider who uses neurotoxic rings. The opening theme “HUGs” by Paledusk and ending theme “TOMOSHIBI” by DUSTCELL deepen the gritty and rebellious vibes of the anime.
