A tourist was rescued after swimming into the sea towards Maripippi Island in Biliran on Thursday. According to police, the man is 31 years old and from Ormoc City. He was planning to vacation on the said island.
When he arrived in the town of Kawayan, he was short of fare. Because of this, he decided to just swim to the island using a lifebuoy. He wanted to continue his vacation even without enough fare.
Authorities responded immediately when he was spotted in the middle of the ocean. Fortunately, he was safely rescued before any danger arose. The public is being reminded to make sure they are prepared for their trip to avoid this kind of situation.
