Mother Angelita Batiao, a house cleaner, was at work Monday morning when her friend showed her a viral video on social media. She was shocked to confirm that the man covered in blood in the video was her only son, Christian Dave Sapio.
According to the Bacoor City police, the body of 29-year-old Christian was found at around 4 a.m. on Bitas Road, Barangay Molino 2, Bacoor City, Cavite. He had suffered multiple stabbing wounds. It was also learned that a woman had contacted the victim online and set up a meet-up, but it is suspected that it was a set-up with two men.
Angelita was deeply saddened by the loss of her son, whom she rarely saw because he lived alone and worked as a food delivery rider. What was even worse, she did not have enough money to bury her son. The funeral home's fee for the autopsy and preparation was ₱60,000, an amount she could not afford.
Angelita also doesn't know if they will ever achieve justice, due to the hardships of life. She was forced to have her son cremated with the help of a local program. She is hoping for other people's help for the funeral expenses and praying that her son will understand her if she doesn't fight the case anymore.
