Marvel and DC will join forces for a special comic titled Deadpool/Batman. It is a one-shot issue that will be released on September 17, 2025. Zeb Wells, known for writing the Spider-Man and Deadpool & Wolverine movies, will write it. Famed artist Greg Capullo, who has worked on Batman and X-Men, will be drawing.
This is the story of Deadpool accepting a contract in Gotham City, where he will face Batman, the "World’s Greatest Detective." Wells said he never asked for a break after being offered the project. He joked, “We found a character who was hotter than Wolverine.”
This crossover is the first major collaboration between Marvel and DC in over 20 years. Following Marvel's Deadpool/Batman #1 this September, DC's Batman/Deadpool #1 will follow in November 2025. Each publisher will have its own version to better showcase their character's personality.
According to Capullo, this project is a huge honor. He said, "It's like a dream come true! This could be the highlight of my career." Capullo has a history with both characters — he previously drew X-Force with Deadpool and was also a longtime artist on Batman at DC.
As the release date approaches, fans' excitement is building. Intense action is expected, especially with a major threat from Joker, which will prompt a team-up between Batman and Deadpool.
