A photo of a man emerging from a canal in Makati City quickly spread on social media. It was captured by William Roberts, while walking at the corner of VA Rufino and Adelantado Streets, Barangay San Lorenzo. According to him, he saw a human head emerge from the drain cover and it immediately ran away.
Due to the viral post, authorities immediately cemented the canal to ensure that no one else could enter or exit there. The police responded immediately and conducted an investigation. The IDMS Tracker Team entered the canal and recovered some items such as cloth and iron.
The person who came out of the canal was identified as a vagrant. It is believed that he lives there at night. The police have contacted the DSWD and the barangay to help the person and save him from danger.
Authorities have also coordinated with the Makati Commercial Estate Association to ensure the area is safe. police are now guarding the area to maintain order and security.
This incident is a reminder of the importance of security and helping those in need, especially the homeless in the city.
