A 28-day-old baby died after his drunken father fell on him while he was sleeping at his in-laws' house in India.
According to police, Alakunta Shekar, 22 years old, arrived early at their house between 5 and 6 am on May 20. Both the baby and its mother, Sujatha, were sleeping at the time.
The baby's grandmother, Allepu Rajamani, said that Shekar and Sujatha had a fight the night before the incident. Shekar allegedly tried to send his wife home even though she had just given birth.
In the morning, Shekar suddenly entered the room and lay down on the bed without noticing that their child was there. Sujatha woke up and screamed when she saw the baby with a nosebleed.
The baby was immediately taken to the hospital, but was declared dead on arrival. Shekar has been arrested while investigations into the incident continue.
