A 27-year-old LGBTQ+ member was injured when a fellow member in Tondo, Manila allegedly beat him up out of jealousy. CCTV footage shows that even though he tried to defend, he was unable to stop the beating. The suspect continued to stomp on him even as he lay down.
According to the police, the motive was jealousy because the suspect and the victim were fighting over the victim's ex-girlfriend who the suspect is now dating. It was also said that the woman may have been at fault for causing the incident. The victim was taken to the hospital, and her injuries were further aggravated when she was thrown from a motorcycle while on the way there.
The suspect explained that it started as a joke, but turned into violence after the victim hit him. He is currently facing a case of frustrated homicide while the victim is recovering.
