The two suspects in the kidnapping and killing of Filipino-Chinese businessman Anson Que and his driver Armanie Pabillo were caught at a luxury resort in Boracay, Aklan on Saturday, May 17.
One of those caught was Wenli Gong, who had a P5 million bounty from the government. He was accompanied by another suspect, Wu Ja Ping. Gong is believed to be one of the masterminds behind the Que kidnap-slay.
According to the source, Gong, also known as Kelly Tan Lim, was the main ransom negotiator for Que's kidnapping. He also allegedly controlled the e-wallets used to launder the P200 million ransom that the Que family gave to the kidnappers.
The police and military led the operation for the arrests. PNP Chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil will hold a press briefing to announce the arrests.
Wu Ja Ping's role in the incident is still unclear. But this is a big step towards arresting those involved in the horrific crime.
