The body of an elderly woman found in a garbage dump in Payatas, Quezon City has been identified. She is 65 years old and lives alone in Orchid Street, Barangay Payatas. Her body was found when garbage collectors pulled it out of a heavy garbage bag.
According to neighbors, the woman was quiet and kind. She also liked to help out with the night vendors, which is why she often left early in the morning. She was last seen on CCTV early Tuesday morning, leaving her house towards San Miguel Street, and never returned.
The incident has left the community concerned for their safety, especially those returning home at night. The barangay assured that they will intensify their patrols to ensure the safety of residents. The victim's neighbor is calling for justice for a kind senior citizen who should not have suffered such violence.
