The CCTV footage captured video of when Robert Genotiva, 25, was forcibly loaded into a vehicle before he was found dead on Monday morning, April 28, in Punay, Aloguinsan, southern Cebu.
Genotiva was walking home around 1 a.m. from a funeral in San Fernando when a car stopped next to her. Someone got out and pointed a gun at her, then forced her to get in.
A few hours later, his body was found tied to an electricity pole on a remote road. There were bullet holes in his face and body, and a sign next to it said he was involved in illegal drugs. His head was wrapped in packaging tape and covered with a T-shirt.
His live-in partner, who went to the funeral parlor in Carcar City to identify the body, is in deep mourning. According to him, they already have an idea who did it and plan to report it to the police.
He does not want to issue a public statement due to severe trauma. According to Aloguinsan Police, the investigation is still ongoing and all possible motives are being investigated, including the alleged drug connection.
