THE reason why ‘Weak Hero Class 2’ is popular on Netflix is because of the intense bromance and personal growth of the characters, according to Park Ji-hoon. The first season had already risen to the Top 10 charts in several countries before the new season even aired.

According to Ji-hoon, many were hooked because of the real male friendship shown in the story. It's like a bromance that's so deep, it's like love from a different angle. In addition, the change and maturity of each character is also evident.

In the new season, Yeon Si-eun (played by Ji-hoon) transfers to a new school after the intense trauma from Season 1. Here she meets Ryeoun, Choi Min-yeong, and Lee Min-jae who become her new friends and help her heal. But there is also a new enemy that heats up the tension again.

Their friendship off-cam is just as solid as on-screen. Ryeoun says that even though she wasn't on set, Min-yeong moved from Seoul to Daejeon just to support them. Because of this, they felt a more genuine connection while shooting.
Min-jae said he was a fan of Season 1, so he's excited for Season 2. He hopes viewers will remember the friendship of the four characters, especially how they faced problems — together, against all odds.
