A man from San Fernando, Cebu was found dead and tied to an electric post in Aloguinsan, hours after he was kidnapped by unknown persons while returning home from a neighbor's funeral.
According to the police, the victim identified as Robert Genotiva, 25, was last seen being forcibly loaded into a black vehicle at around 1 a.m. on April 29, 2025. This happened near their home in Barangay North Poblacion, San Fernando.
Around 6 in the morning, Genotiva's body was found in Purok 3, Barangay Punay, Aloguinsan, which is 27 kilometers from San Fernando. He had bullet wounds to the head and body, and was tied to the post.
The family reportedly does not know why she was killed. Relatives say she had no enemies or feuds. They wonder why Genotiva ended up like this.
Police said the investigation is ongoing and they are looking into the possibility of a connection to illegal drugs, but there is no final conclusion at this time.
