
A tragic shooting incident rocked Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia, Canada on Tuesday, leaving nine dead, including seven victims at a secondary school, before the suspect took his own life. According to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), there were 27 injured in the shooting, with two having serious injuries, and the others having non-life-threatening injuries. While investigating the incident, police determined that several victims were found dead inside the school and in a house connected to the incident.
Police issued an active shooter alert at Tumbler Ridge Secondary School Tuesday afternoon. While searching the school, they found six dead inside. A nearby victim died on the way to the hospital. Separately, two people were also found dead at a residence connected to the incident.
RCMP Northern District Commander Ken Floyd described the situation as "dynamic and rapidly evolving." He said it was a "very dangerous and emotional day for the community," and thanked residents for their cooperation as the investigation continues. Police are continuing to search other homes and properties to discover if there are any other connected locations.
