
A 12-year-old boy was dead while his 12-year-old friend was seriously injured after a Big Triangle, a type of illegal firecracker, exploded in Tondo, Manila on Sunday night. According to Jose Abad Santos Police Station 7, the incident occurred at around 8:23 p.m. on A. Lorenzo Street near the corner of Jose Abad Santos Avenue.
The CCTV of Barangays 223 and 224 showed two children walking along the road. One of them was carrying a triangle-shaped firecracker before it exploded, causing severe injuries to the victim. The force of the explosion resulted in the victim's arms and legs being broken and broken glass scattered throughout a nearby establishment.
According to Kagawad Cyron Reyes, the barangay immediately responded while they were busy preparing for the Christmas party. The injured child was rushed to the Jose R. Reyes Memorial Medical Center and was given an anti-tetanus vaccine and a CT scan. An investigation is ongoing to determine where the illegal fireworks came from and whether anyone is responsible for the incident.
