Popular singer Connie Francis, known for the songs Pretty Little Baby and Stupid Cupid, has passed away at the age of 87. Her friend Ron Roberts, who was Connie's copyright manager, shared the sad news in a Facebook post on Thursday, July 17.
According to Roberts, "I am deeply saddened by the passing of my dear friend, Connie Francis, last night." No further details have been provided about her passing.
A few weeks before his death, Francis was hospitalized due to severe body pains. During that time, he underwent tests to determine the cause.
Following his retirement, Francis lived in South Florida. In May, he told PEOPLE that he had suffered a hip injury that temporarily required him to use a wheelchair.
Her real name is Concetta Franconero, and she was the first woman to have a No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 with the song Everybody's Somebody's Fool. Recently, her song Pretty Little Baby gained popularity again after it was used by many young people on TikTok.
