The P50 wage increase has been approved by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) for minimum wage earners in Metro Manila. Up to 1.2 million workers will benefit from the new wage increase.
DOLE Secretary Bienvenido E. Laguesma said that the NCR Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) approved this through Wage Order 26. According to him, this is the largest wage increase implemented in Metro Manila.
Because of this, the previous P645 daily minimum wage in the non-agriculture sector will become P695. For agriculture, service and retail establishments with 15 or fewer employees, as well as factories with less than 10 regular workers, the wage will increase from P608 to P658 per day.
The increase will be effective starting July 18, 2025, one day after the anniversary of the last wage increase implemented on July 17, 2024.
The wage increase will help alleviate the impact of high prices and hot weather faced by many workers in the NCR.
