The 2025 Yamaha XSR125 has been slightly updated but its retro charm is still solid. New colours such as silver, blue, and matte red/white are available for £4951. Performance-wise, both the standard and Legend versions have 14.8bhp at 10,000rpm. It's perfect for those with a CBT or A1 license, especially new riders. While it's not super fast, it can keep up with traffic and reach 70mph in fifth gear while averaging 100mpg — according to the LCD display.
While the VVA engine isn't particularly thrilling, it has enough power for everyday use. But the real standout is the chassis and suspension. Although not adjustable, the damping and spring rate are just right for a comfortable and sporty ride.
Despite being used in beach races and a few crashes on the sand, the XSR125 remained sturdy and undamaged. The brakes are also just right for new riders — grippy but not overpowering.
