A vacationer from Nasugbu, Batangas drowned after allegedly suffering cardiac arrest while bathing at Panutsutan Beach, Brgy. Balaytigue, on Friday morning, April 25, 2025. The victim was with his family who were outing when the incident occurred at around 8:00 a.m..
According to the victim's nephew, while they were in 4 feet of water, the victim suddenly disappeared. They suspect that he lost consciousness and suffered a heart attack before finally going under the water.
It took 30 minutes for rescuers to recover the victim. He was immediately subjected to CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), and quickly taken to Apacible Memorial District Hospital, but he was dead upon arrival at the hospital.
It was also learned that the victim was taking maintenance medicine for his high blood pressure and cholesterol, so it is possible that he suffered a heart attack while in the water.
