In a recent interview, Marlon Wayans shared the possibility of a return of some of his most iconic comedy films. The actor and comedian admitted that sequels to White Chicks and Don’t Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood could go ahead, but there is one important condition before it can be finally approved.
According to Wayans, the fate of the highly anticipated films depends on the performance of Scary Movie 6 at the box office. If the franchise's return is successful, it will be more likely that White Chicks 2 and Don’t Be a Menace 2 will be greenlit. He pointed out that their creative team is ready to revive their classic works if the public reception is positive.
Don’t Be a Menace was first released in 1996, while White Chicks became a cult-favorite in 2004. Both films made their mark on the comedy world with their bold humor, satirical storytelling, and unique style. Now, Wayans seems more determined to bring back the energy of these films, which he says are still full of potential for a bigger and bolder return to the modern entertainment stage.
