
An 18-year-old student died after he was stabbed by a classmate outside his school in Barangay Poblacion Zone 2, Taal, on Wednesday afternoon.
According to a police report from PLTCol. Aleli Buaquen, spokesperson of the Batangas Police Provincial Office, the victim was immediately brought to the Our Lady of Caysasay Hospital in Lemery but was declared dead a few minutes later.
The victim, a resident of Barangay Poblacion Zone 6, sustained three stab wounds to the stomach. Based on initial investigation, at around 3:00 p.m., the victim was standing in front of Rizal College of Taal when an argument with the suspect began. The argument escalated into a fistfight, before the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim repeatedly.
Police immediately arrested the 18-year-old suspect, a resident of Barangay Luntal. Although the incident occurred in front of Rizal College, authorities clarified that both the victim and the suspect are students of Taal Senior High School.
The police investigation is continuing to determine the motive behind the heinous incident. Authorities are appealing to anyone with information to come forward to help with the case.
