MANILA, Philippines — The number of passengers on the EDSA Busway will reach 66,669,287 in 2025, according to the Department of Transportation (DOTr). This is up from 63,022,953 passengers in 2024, reflecting continued growth in the use of the main bus lane on EDSA.
The highest monthly ridership was recorded in December 2025, when 6,530,415 rode the busway during the holiday rush. Meanwhile, the highest daily ridership was recorded in April 2025, which reached 321,186 passengers in 24 hours.
Since the busway began operations in June 2020, it has reached a total of 341,307,843 passengers. This data is proof of the importance of EDSA Busway in speeding up and facilitating daily travel in Metro Manila.
According to Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez, the DOTr's commitment to the modernization and expansion of the busway continues. “We still have many improvements to make, such as the more modern Kamuning Busway station and three new stations by 2026 to make the journey of passengers more convenient and fast," Lopez said.
Despite the high number of passengers, the EDSA Busway shows great potential for more efficient and urban mobility. New projects and modernizations are expected to further enhance the quality of service and experience for each passenger in the coming year.
