
Bicol — A man was arrested after trying to smuggle drugs hidden in a burger to the Jose Panganiban Municipal Police Station this Friday, January 9, around 5:51 p.m.
According to the report, the man went to the station to visit his live-in partner who is one of the Persons Under Police Custody (PUPC) with the said food. During a routine inspection, the duty jailer discovered tissue paper with two heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu.
The burger was found to contain approximately 1.3 grams of drugs worth P8,840. The suspect is 52 years old, a gold panner, and a resident of Barangay Luklukan Sur, Jose Panganiban, Camarines Norte.
According to investigators from the Jose Panganiban MPS, they also arrested the suspect's live-in partner for allegedly selling drugs. Documents are currently being prepared for the filing of criminal charges against the man.
The suspect will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, while the investigation continues for the complete unfolding of the incident.
