A simple delivery of goods in Quiapo, Manila resulted in a shooting, in which 1 man was killed and 1 was critically injured. The incident occurred on January 2 inside a warehouse on Palanca Street, and the incident was captured on CCTV.
According to police, the incident stemmed from a dispute over delivery fees between brotherly delivery riders and a delivery worker. A heated exchange ensued, leading to the delivery van driver being slapped.
Because of the belief that his brother was helping, the 33-year-old driver pulled out an unlicensed gun and shot the two victims. The 32-year-old was dead on the spot, while his 35-year-old brother-in-law is critical.
The suspects quickly fled but the driver was arrested at Batangas Port, while the driver voluntarily surrendered at the Barbosa Police Station, bringing the gun used. They are now detained together at the custodial facility.
The MPD Homicide Section is preparing charges of murder, frustrated murder, and illegal possession of firearms and ammunition against the two suspects.
